Rockaway Quarry

Measure 'L'

This is the first step of many at considering building a town center in the abandoned quarry.

Voting yes only allows our Planning Commission, City Council, Coastal Commission, Fish & Game, Caltrans, and other agencies to objectively consider the project in an open public forum.

Contrary to rumors, voting yes on 'L' is NOT a blank check. voting yes on 'L' does NOT circumvent the process. Pacifica residents will always have the final say on this project. If a bad deal is approved by our city council and the Coastal Commission then the residents of Pacifica can kill this project with a simple majority vote within the referendum process.

Please do not kill this project before we even get a chance to consider it.  Not only would a town center with shops and restaurants increase our quality of life, it will bring a great amount of needed revenue to our city.

Pacifica can require any project that gets approved in the quarry to mitigate it's share of traffic. The traffic on Highway 1 will continue to get worst with or without a project in the quarry. But a project in the quarry will bring needed revenue to help design and improve Highway 1.

I will be voting Yes on 'L' and I encourage everyone to Vote yes on 'L'.

Pacifica is not really sticking their necks out to far when you consider the residents still have the final decision with the referendum process.

Sincerely,1575 Grand Ave

David Blackman
