City Hall Update Oct 16, 2006 | |||

I completely disagree with the current plan to move city hall to the ocean
front abandoned sewer plant property on on Beach Blvd. This is fiscally irresponsible and very shortsighted. This will incredibly devalue and limit the uses of the abandoned sewer plant property. We should remodel our city hall in its existing location, thus conserving our resources for pressing needs. This is not the time to incur additional debt in our city without a clear method of increasing our revenue. I am in favor of a single consolidated library in Pacifica. I think the ideal location is in Vallemar at the school district office property or possibly the Rockaway Quarry development. We can operate a single state of the art library for the same cost of operating two smaller outdated libraries. The Sharp Park location does not have enough land to expand and the Sanchez location is too remote for most Pacificans. Sincerely, David Blackman
